Chuck wins again.

Well, Chuck Lidell proved me wrong once again.

I should know better by now. When he fought Tito Ortiz, I said Ortiz would win. He didn't. Chuck knocked him out. When Chuck signed to fight a rematch against Randy Couture, I said Randy would take him down and pound out a win. He didn't. Chuck knocked him out. When Chuck signed to fight against Jeremy Horn--a man who had choked him unconscious a few years earlier--I said Horn would end up submitting him. He didn't. Chuck made him quit.

And when the third and final match of the trilogy between Chuck and Randy was signed, I said Randy would win. He didn't. Chuck knocked him out. Again.

Do me a favor, will ya? Remind me never to bet against Chuck Lidell.

Blog Post Number Two

Hey, everyone.

I'm watching One Tree Hill right now. It is, in my opinion, a pretty damned good show. My wife got me into it. The characters are well developed and engaging, the storylines are often compelling, and it's filmed in my favorite town of all time: Wilmington, North Carolina.

Anyway, I told you I'd be talking about any number of topics. I bet you didn't expect me to speak about One Tree Hill, did you?

Hey, the next Ultimate Fighting Championship comes on this weekend. The main event has Randy "The Natural" Couture versus the current UFC 205 pound champion, Chuck "The Ice Man" Lidell. For those of you who aren't familiar with these two, they are two of the baddest mofos to walk this earth. They've already fought one another twice--each man has won a fight (Couture won the first time), each man has lost a fight (Liddell won the second time).

Randy has an extensive amateur wrestling background. As a mixed martial artist, he has fought some of the biggest names in the sport. He is a two-time UFC heavyweight champion (that's over 205 pounds) and has an opportunity to win the light heavyweight championship for the third time this weekend.

Chuck wrestled in highschool and, I believe, in college (could be wrong--too lazy to check). Regradless, his wrestling is not on par with Randy's. His stand-up, however, is better. He loves to knock people out. And he's damned good at it. You can bet that Chuck will be looking to land the same giant right hand that dropped Couture like a bullet to the head in their last engagement. For his part, Couture will be looking to slam Lidell through the canvas and ground and pound his face into hamburger (like he did the first time).

My money is on Couture to regain the title. I think he'll avoid the big punch, cut off the cage, and force Liddell into a clinch, where he'll be able to wrestle him to the floor and work his superior ground game, eventually stopping Chuck the way he stopped him the first time around.

Of course, every time I bet against Chuck, he wins. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if Chuck makes me eat my words once again. He is, afterall, a bad mofo.

Welcome

Welcome, all, to Booth on Everything, where I'll talk about any number of random concepts. However, you'll find I focus on several loves:

1. Poker

2. Fight Sports like mixed martial arts, boxing and K-1.

3. Fiction

4. Music

Anyway, this is just a small listing of topics. There will be others.

Oh, and I'll probably only post like once every two weeks, so don't hold your breath in anticipation.

Gotta run.

Until next time,

Adieu.
